"Recordando a Coderch" at La Casa por el Tejado
Elina Vilá, architect of vilablanch Studio, and Pati Núñez spent an afternoon "Recordando a Coderch" at La Casa por el Tejado, on the occasion of the screening of the documentary produced by MINIM and directed by Poldo Pomés, which pays homage to the figure of Coderch . During the event the book was also presented which integrates the interviews that are shown in the documentary, and which also includes an interesting explanation of the unpublished project La Herencia de Coderch, which proposes flexible and adaptable housing to the changing needs of their habitants.
The event organized by Josep Boncompte and Mariona Artús, brought together a group of 40 architects and interior designers interested in getting to know more closely the figure of the architect Jose Antonio Coderch, one of the main responsible for the post-war local architecture to open to the contemporary international currents. A controversial character, contradictory, sometimes peaceful, sometimes authoritarian, but always brilliant.
Joan Artés, architect and founder of La Casa por el Tejado, opened the event by discovering why and how this innovative construction process was born based on building on the roofs of centenary buildings, without losing any of the architectural features that make them unique.
